Call for applications for the PhD program of the Doctoral School of Mathematics and Computer Sciences of BME for the academic year 2025/2026 fall semester
Only for EU citizen (or eligible for Hungarian state scholarships for any other reason, e.g you are from Switzerland)!

Before you start, please note that you will need a letter of support from your prospective supervisor. You may find the available topics and supervisors here.
You must contact your choice of supervisor directly. It is also possible to name a supervisor and topic which is not listed here, but in that case you must already have an agreement with your prospective supervisor, and must attach his/her letter of support to your application
The net amount of the scholarship is currently 140.000 HUF/month. However, if you are eligible for Hungarian state scholarship (e.g. you are an EU citizen), you are also eligible to apply for the Renyi Doctoral Fellowship (RDF) introduced by the Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics. Please consult the webpage https://www.renyi.hu/en/ to see whether the call of the fellowship is currently open. Please note that the deadline of applications for the RDF may be different than the deadline of applications to our Doctoral School.
The deadline for application is the 31th May 2025.

Letters of recommendations can be sent directly to Maria Vida by the professors.

Admission procedure:
The admission consists of a written and an oral part. In the written test,
you must obtain at least 15 points out of a possible 30 points (example
exercises).
Expected date of interview (personal or online): June, 2025. The exact date and
time will be communicated to you by email.
